Meet the Characters of Jaylane

Hi, I'm Jaylisa!

I'm ten years old and have two brothers, ages six and eight. I live with my grandma and Uncle Jordan, who is autistic. Both of my parents are in prison and live very far away. I miss them very much. This is my story of experiencing the magic of Jaylane with my soon-to-be best friends.

JAYLANE IN ACTION

Through our interactive Library Tour, we have brought Jaylane into communities, empowering children with the tools to express and communicate their emotions through creativity.

ADVOCATING FOR CHANGE THROUGH FILM

Children of incarcerated parents may look fine from the outside, but they are often dealing with trauma and anxiety from their parents’ confinement. Through the award winning short film documentary "The Candle" we are able to see the impact incarceration has on children and learn how we can be apart of the village that supports them.
